Kristina spent the first twenty years of her life in Palatine, Illinois. She received her Associates of Arts degree at a local community college and finished studies with an Illustration degree from Columbia College in Chicago.

After graduation, she worked out of Los Angeles, California as a free-lance artist. Now residing in Michigan, she has shown and continues to display her paintings throughout the Detroit area. Kristina has graciously allowed us to show you some of her gorgeous "Surreal Portraits in Nature."

18 October 2004...
For the past few months Kristina and her wonderful husband Henry have donated not just art as a means of helping supporting Knapptime but their home, time and pocketbook as well... They have spent endless hours helping a rescued 4 and 1/2 year old Umbrella Cockatoo learn about food and preening... They took this plucked Cockatoo to the vet and paid the bills in hopes of finding a medical cause, if it existed, for this birds plucking behavior... They played with Muffin inside and outside... They cuddled him and bathed him... They recorded each step and continued to work with Knapptime knowing that they were only fostering Muffin... Muffin started growing in new feathers but the hormones were more dangerous than they were expecting...
It almost cost Kristina's eyes as well nose and other parts of her on several occasions...Though Muffin returned to Knapptime they continued coming over several times a week to play with Muffin and help him and other special birds... This past Saturday Muffin went home with his new parents and Kristina and Henry were here to insure his new family was aware of their findings and to give Muffin one more squeeze and kiss before letting him go... Hearts were broken but love gave Muffin a fighting chance in life...
To these great two people, we know how hard it is to send part of your heart away and we also know the helpless feeling that comes from trying so hard only to see your love be given to another... When it comes to rescue, we are not allowed the choices we would like but given by a higher power the obligation to help his other children until the day we can meet them on the other side of the "Rainbow Bridge!!!"
